Descrizione

Il nome specifico onora l'importatore di pesce Jacob Freiberg di Verona, New Jersey, che era il co-collezionista del tipo. Ci sono diversi morph di colore tra cui rosso o giallo. Generalmente possono crescere fino a circa 15 cm di lunghezza.

Diffusione

È endemico del Malawi , dove è stato osservato a Nkudzi, Monkey Bay, Nankumba, Isole Domwe e Otter Point nel lago Malawi.
